Sandra's Story
Sandra Pitjara Jones is an emerging artist from the Utopia region 270kms north east of Alice Springs.
Taught by her mother and aunties, she paints her dreamings – stories passed on down through the generations in her family. Many of Sandra’s works depict Tharrkarr, the flower of the bush honey grevillea plant which grows profusely in her country. Her paintings are characterised by masses of floral blooms of red-bud mallee and grevillea.
